Foodie Footsteps Food Tours is seeking outgoing people who are passionate and knowledgeable about food and the local culinary scene to lead tours In La Jolla, CA. If you love interacting with people and have a flair for the dramatic, this is an ideal opportunity for you. Our food tour guides lead small groups of guests through some of La Jolla’s best food destinations, sharing the stories behind the food, local culture and history.

Our ideal food tour applicant:

  • Can lead groups of guests on tours in an engaging and enthusiastic manner, providing information in a conversational, interactive style about the foods, culture, history and current trends of the local food scene.

  • Passionate about the city of La Jolla, its history, its culinary culture, and most importantly... its unique food and beverages… and excited to share it with others.

  • Able to memorize a tour script and route, while making it their own.

  • Able to adapt a provided script to the interests and preferences of guests, and make adjustments on the fly.

  • Upbeat, positive and outgoing, as well as committed to providing a stellar guest tour experience.

  • Professional and customer service-oriented during all aspects of the guest experience.

  • Can collect feedback from guests at the end of the tour, if needed.

Additional qualifications:

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Reliably attend all scheduled tours.

  • Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends.

  • Aged 21 or older.

  • Fluent in the English language.
